Production technologies

Nuova PTM Meccanica has a complete and technologically advanced machine inventory. Quality is the guideline in our production.

Our company is divided into precise and specific production areas, in comfortable and adequate conditions. We work in accordance with the regulations on safety in the workplace and of the environment.

Every mechanical operation that goes into the making of our products, all the special equipment, the units engineered by us or commissioned by our customers, are all developed solely inside our two production facilities, in the industrial zone of Monteveglio in Bologna, by qualified staff who are well-organised and specialised in the specific processes:

• production of rotating live and dead centers, drivers, vices, tension pins
• production of special equipment or equipment groups
• sub-contract precision engineering of mechanical parts
• maintenance, overhaul and testing of live centers and drivers
• testing and quality control

The modern and technologically adequate machine inventory, perfectly integrated with the company organisation, consists of a series of work centres and machine tools that are indispensable for all of the following precision engineering operations:

• turning
• grinding
• milling
• boring
• drilling
• thread cutting

We have:

• various work centres with different numbers of horizontal and vertical axes made by leading international machine tool manufacturers (Mazak, Daewoo, Axa, Novar, Doosan, etc.) with pallet changer and continuous dividing head
• a CNC turning and self-learning workshop (with various models: Doosan, CMT, Comev, etc.) for small or large diameters
• a CNC grinding workshop (with universal models: Studer, Ribon, Kellenberger, Jung tangential grinding machine, etc.) for machining diameters from 3 mm to 350 mm
• various service machine tools, such as pillar and radial drills, sawing machines, welders, electrolyte or laser markers, EDM (Electro-Discharge Machining), etc.

All precision engineering operations essential for production are supervised by the production managers of each department and undergo sample tests in the control and testing laboratory.
